Carboxytherapy facial

Skin that lacks oxygen looks dull and tired, recovers more slowly after breakouts and loses firmness faster. A carboxytherapy facial improves microcirculation (blood flow in the tiniest skin vessels) and oxygen supply to the tissues, so the skin looks fresher and firmer. At UKRMED it is done in the cosmetology department.

Cosmetologist consultation

The cosmetologist will assess your skin and advise which carboxytherapy protocol suits you.

What is carboxytherapy

During the procedure the skin is exposed to carbon dioxide (CO2). The body interprets extra CO2 as a sign of oxygen shortage and increases blood flow to the area. More blood means more oxygen and nutrients for the cells.

A review notes that carboxytherapy improves blood circulation in skin tissue and describes its use for stretch marks, scars, loss of elasticity and other aesthetic concerns.

Non-invasive carboxytherapy treatment

There are injection and non-invasive methods. The non-invasive method uses no needles: a gel is applied to the skin and an activating mask on top. The reaction produces carbon dioxide that acts on the skin. UKRMED uses DeMax products.

DeMax protocols:

  • 3D lifting - for firmness and a more defined facial contour;
  • Acne reconstructor - for breakout-prone skin and post-acne marks;
  • peptide protocol - for skin recovery and nourishment (peptides are short protein molecules that support cell repair).

Indications

  • dull, grey complexion and signs of fatigue;
  • reduced skin firmness;
  • tendency to acne and post-acne marks;
  • puffiness;
  • skin recovery after other treatments, such as a facial cleansing.

Contraindications

Pregnancy and breastfeeding, acute skin inflammation in the area, damaged skin and allergy to ingredients. The cosmetologist will go through the full list.

How it is done

  1. Cleansing.
  2. Applying the gel with active ingredients.
  3. Activating mask - you feel slight tingling and warmth, which is normal.
  4. Removing the mask and finishing care.

Carboxytherapy is done as a course for a lasting result; the number of sessions is set individually. It combines well with mesotherapy (micro-injections of nutrient cocktails into the skin), bioreparation (injections of skin-restoring products) and device-based treatments.
