Hardware Cosmetology in Kyiv

Hardware cosmetology covers treatments in which a device sets the strength and depth of the effect on the skin. It is not one procedure but a group of methods, from mechanical exfoliation to light or ultrasound. At UKRMED Cosmetology, the device-based facial treatments include diamond microdermabrasion, finished with skincare masks. The plan is drawn up by cosmetologist Nataliia Tarhonska after examining your skin.

Diamond microdermabrasion

Diamond facial resurfacing is superficial mechanical exfoliation. A diamond-coated tip removes dead cells, while a vacuum immediately clears them away and gently massages the skin. Unlike deep dermabrasion or laser resurfacing, it does not damage the living layers of the skin and needs no downtime.

A 2026 review of clinical and histological studies on mechanical skin renewal found that microdermabrasion improves skin texture and triggers epidermal renewal through short-term activation of fibroblasts and remodelling of the extracellular matrix.

Who it suits

• dull tone and uneven texture;
• enlarged pores and a tendency to comedones;
• superficial post-acne marks and pigmentation;
• fine lines;
• preparing the skin for masks, serums and injectable treatments.

The procedure

1. Cosmetic consultation — assessing skin type, sensitivity and contraindications.
2. Cleansing and degreasing the skin.
3. Microdermabrasion — several passes with the tip. It feels like light friction and suction.
4. Mask — hydrating, brightening or alginate.
5. Protective cream with SPF.

The treatment takes 40–60 minutes. Slight redness fades within hours.

Course

A noticeable effect usually takes four to six sessions one to two weeks apart, followed by monthly maintenance.

Masks in your care plan

• A hydrating facial mask restores moisture after resurfacing.
• A brightening facial mask evens out tone and adds radiance.
• An alginate mask is a seaweed-based peel-off mask that fits the skin closely, soothes and hydrates. Alginate masks suit even sensitive skin.

Masks can also be booked separately as facial skin care.

Microdermabrasion or a peel

Both methods exfoliate the surface layer of the skin, but in different ways. Microdermabrasion works mechanically and evenly, without chemicals, so it suits people who do not tolerate acids well. Chemical peels — salicylic, azelaic, lactic, BioRePeel, PRX-T33 — dissolve the bonds between dead cells and work more deeply on pores, acne and pigmentation. The American Academy of Dermatology notes that superficial peels heal in one to seven days and usually require a course of 3–5 treatments. The choice depends on skin type and goal — the cosmetologist can combine both approaches in one plan. Peels are done as part of a facial cleansing or on their own.

What results to expect

After the first session, the skin feels smoother and brighter and absorbs skincare better. After a course, pores look less visible, tone is more even and fine lines softer. However, microdermabrasion does not remove deep scars, marked wrinkles or sagging — other methods, which the doctor will suggest at the consultation, are needed for that.

Contraindications

Treatment is postponed with active inflammatory acne, a cold sore, broken skin, a rosacea or dermatitis flare, or a fresh tan. Tell the cosmetologist if you take isotretinoin or use retinoids — they will decide whether the procedure is safe.

Aftercare

• avoid scrubs, acids and retinoids for one to two days;
• apply SPF daily, especially in the first week;
• no tanning or sunbeds for two weeks;
• moisturise with a gentle cream.

Combining treatments

Other cosmetic procedures complement device-based care: facial cleansing for clogged pores, biorevitalisation for deep hydration, plasma therapy for post-acne, and facial massage for tone and less puffiness.
