Professional teeth whitening that will give you a perfect smile
Free consultation
UKRMED provides BEYOND teeth whitening in Kyiv. The first visit is a free consultation: a dentist checks the teeth, gum line and old dental work, then asks whether cold drinks already cause discomfort. If everything looks calm, the whitening appointment can be planned. A cavity or inflamed gum changes the order — that issue comes first.
Teeth pick up colour slowly. A little from coffee. More from strong tea or smoking. Age alters the shade too, although the change is often noticed only when today’s smile is compared with an older photograph.
Not every dark-looking tooth needs whitening. Plaque and calculus can hide the real enamel colour, which is why professional hygiene may be the first step. If the teeth still look too warm or dull once they are clean, the colour is probably not sitting only on the surface.
The expected shade is discussed rather than selected from a universal chart. Natural enamel is not identical in every person, and neither is the way it responds. Existing fillings and crowns also need to be taken into account.
These are two separate procedures.
A cleaning removes plaque, calculus and external pigment. Whitening changes colour held within the natural tooth. So, a coffee stain along the gum may polish away, while an overall yellowish shade remains.
When deposits are present, hygiene is usually completed first. Whitening gel works more evenly on a clean surface.
The BEYOND system is used in the dental office. The teeth are covered with whitening gel after the gums and lips have been protected. Filtered light from a BEYOND lamp activates the product.
The reaction affects coloured molecules inside the tooth. There is no white coating and no enamel is added or painted over.
Online, the same service is sometimes called laser whitening. BEYOND does not use a dental laser; it works with a specialised whitening lamp.

The dentist begins by recording the tooth shade. Then comes a close check for small cracks, open filling margins and irritated areas near the gums. Tiny details, but they can make a real difference to comfort.
A retractor keeps the lips and cheeks away from the working area. The gum line is covered. Gel is applied only after that barrier is secure.
Light exposure takes place in short cycles rather than one uninterrupted session. In between, the dentist checks the tissues and asks what the patient feels. A brief response may be acceptable. A sharp one is a reason to pause.
Once the last cycle is finished, the gel is removed and the shade is compared with the original colour. Teeth that react to cold may also receive a desensitising product.
Whitening should not be carried out over untreated decay or next to inflamed, unprotected gums. That is the main reason for examining the mouth beforehand.
Some teeth remain completely calm. Others produce a sudden response to cold water or air later that day — short, sharp, gone. If discomfort continues or becomes stronger, the clinic should know about it.
Trying to intensify the effect at home immediately afterwards is a bad trade: the shade may barely change, while sensitivity becomes much more noticeable.
Active caries and gum inflammation are treated before the procedure. The same applies to damaged enamel and sensitivity that already interferes with eating or brushing.
A single dark tooth is a different situation. If it previously underwent root canal treatment, the discolouration may come from inside. Ordinary external whitening will not necessarily reach the cause.
Fillings, veneers and crowns stay the same colour. This matters most in the front area: lighter enamel can make an older restoration stand out. The possible mismatch is discussed during the consultation.
The first few days are fairly simple. Avoid overloading the fresh shade with products that stain easily — strong tea, coffee, red wine, beetroot, dark berries and richly coloured sauces. Smoking works against the result as well.
Brush gently. A soft toothbrush is enough. Highly abrasive whitening paste does not extend the clinical effect and may feel rough on sensitive enamel.
How long does the result last? Look at habits rather than the calendar. Frequent coffee, tobacco and inconsistent hygiene bring pigment back faster; occasional coloured food has a different impact. Any later touch-up should be discussed after the teeth have been checked.
Professional BEYOND teeth whitening at UKRMED costs UAH 5,000. Consultation before the procedure is free. Cleaning, caries treatment or replacement of old restorations is charged separately if required.
This procedure is prohibited:
You should also not whiten your teeth if there are crowns in the smile area. This is due to the fact that the prostheses will not be able to whiten enough and will differ from natural teeth. If there is a need for photo-whitening, then the crowns will additionally have to be replaced.
The algorithm of the procedure is as follows:
In general, the manipulation will take about 30-40 minutes. After its completion, all protective materials and accessories are removed. The effect of the procedure can be assessed immediately.
It is important to remember that the result after the whitening procedure is not eternal. Many factors constantly affect tooth enamel and can change its color. That is why there is a risk that the teeth will turn yellow quickly. However, this can be avoided. It is enough to use a number of tips:
Additionally, you can use means to strengthen enamel. These are usually gels or rinses of the oral cavity containing fluoride. If the patient takes proper care of his teeth after whitening them, the effect will last up to 2 years.
It depends on the original colour and the reason for the staining. The dentist can estimate the direction of change after examining the teeth, but the same number of shades cannot be promised to everyone.
Nothing — their colour remains unchanged. If a visible restoration no longer matches after whitening, its replacement can be discussed once the new enamel shade has settled.
No drilling or polishing away of enamel is involved. Whitening gel acts on pigment within natural tooth tissue. Cavities and damaged areas still need attention before the gel is used.
Sometimes. First, the dentist needs to understand why they are sensitive. Treatment may go ahead with a modified protocol, or it may be postponed until the cause has been managed.
