How safe is it to remove a "wisdom" tooth?

The main danger that can accompany the removal of a "wisdom" tooth is that its root can enter the mandibular canal. When trying to pull out a tooth, there is a risk of injury to the vascular-nerve bundle of the large nerve - it is it that passes in the lower jaw. Therefore, the removal procedure should be performed by an experienced doctor.

Complications when removing a wisdom tooth can be:

bleeding;
numbness of the tongue, cheeks, face;
neuralgia.

There are cases when patients suffer from acute neuralgia after an unsuccessful tooth extraction.

Plasmolifting

Most often, plasma lifting is used during treatment in periodontology and implantology. This method allows to improve the regeneration of bone and soft tissues. It consists in activating the body's immune defenses. The mechanism is as follows: platelet plasma, which can be obtained from the blood of the patient himself, activates the sprouting of capillaries. This, in turn, improves the indicators of hemodynamics and tissue respiration, accelerates the metabolism in the gums and bone tissue.

Surgical removal of a tooth is not a complicated intervention, so it does not require any specific preparation. However, there are a number of recommendations that must be followed. These are the following:

carry out hygienic cleaning of the oral cavity in advance - it is better to have a
professional cleaning done by a doctor;
do not drink alcoholic beverages during the day before the manipulation;
do not smoke on the day of the manipulation.

As for rehabilitation after tooth extraction, it is also not specific. It is enough to refuse food and any drinks for 2-3 hours. If there is pain, you should use painkillers.

What is included in surgical dentistry?

Dental implantation

Dental implants help to restore a lost or extracted tooth. This method involves the installation of an implant, which is covered with a special crown on top, which repeats the relief of a natural tooth. Implantation takes place in the bone tissue, so an examination and all necessary analyzes are carried out in advance.

What are the stages of dental implantation?

In the course of implantation, special implants are used, which in their shape resemble the natural root of a tooth. This is important in order for the grafting process to proceed quickly and comfortably for the patient. Treatment usually requires more than one appointment with a doctor and lasts several months. The implantation procedure itself is performed quite quickly (20 minutes), the rest of the time is spent on the implantation of the implant.

The main stages of therapy include the following:

Diagnostics. The doctor examines the condition of the oral cavity and bone tissue. The health of the teeth and gums must be checked. Based on the results of the examination, a further treatment algorithm is drawn up, if certain pathologies or diseases are detected. If necessary, hygienic teeth cleaning is additionally performed.
Surgical intervention. At this stage, teeth that are no longer amenable to treatment are removed. If the volume of bone tissue is insufficient, plastic surgery is performed. This is followed by insertion of the implant and installation of a temporary crown.
Installing a permanent crown. If the density of fixation of the implant in the bone tissue is satisfactory, the doctor can install a permanent crown. It is made according to an individual mold.

After the procedure, the patient can lead his usual lifestyle without any restrictions.

What does a dental surgeon do?

A dental surgeon diagnoses diseases of the oral cavity (teeth and gums), chooses an appropriate therapy plan and conducts treatment directly. It is performed by surgical interventions in the maxillofacial area. The result of such manipulations is the possibility of improving the aesthetic aspect and functionality of the jaws, teeth and face as a whole. Patients usually need such medical care after suffering illnesses or injuries.

What effect can be safely expected as a result of a plasmolifting course?

After completing the plasma lifting course:

inflammatory processes in the gums decrease or disappear completely;
bad breath disappears (if the gum was affected by its source);
the healing of soft tissues is accelerated (for example, after surgical interventions or tooth loss);
gum bleeding decreases.

Also, plasma lifting helps to restore the elasticity and natural shape of the gums, i.e. to rejuvenate them.

What are the reasons for wisdom teeth extraction?

There are three main reasons for removing "wisdom" teeth:

In addition, indications for the removal of a "wisdom" tooth may be associated with its significant damage (caries or as a result of trauma). The treatment is quite complicated due to the anatomical features of the upper and lower jaw, and therefore the removal itself is more effective and safer.

Why remove wisdom teeth if they do not bother you?

If the "wisdom" tooth does not bother you, grows without discomfort and does not have caries, it is not necessary to remove it. Such manipulation is recommended in cases where there are problems with teeth eruption, there is not enough space for it, or there are inflammatory processes, as well as if it is significantly damaged by caries.

Can wisdom teeth be removed during pregnancy?

Yes. There are no contraindications for removing wisdom teeth during pregnancy. However, it is important to correctly approach the choice of painkillers and other medications that will be used during the intervention.
